NEW YORK, Feb 1, 2008 / FR/ --- To American fashionistas, the Heart Truth is a yearly catwalk show held at the tents during the Fall season held in February, February being the National Heart Month for the U.S. The Heart Truth is a national initiative to create awareness about heart disease, the #1 killer of women.
A year ago, Milan also started its Red Dress collection, with a press conference. Plans are underway to create a runway show, though nothing is concrete yet.
Now on its sixth year, The Heart Truth: The Red Dress Collection is more than a fashion show. Different designers create a red dress for specific celebrity catwalk that this year included Liza Minnelli and Heidi Klum.
In terms of a catwalk theme, it is a red dress. In terms of silhouettes, they are so different because for all intent and purposes, this is a group show. And though the dresses designed to be worn, they are not designed to be sold. The dresses shown on the catwalk travel from city to city as part of The Heart Truth campaign against heart disease.
In fact, the Red Dress is the U.S. national symbol for women’s fight against heart disease.
